Class Experience

This class is an introduction for students to learn how to add and subtract decimals, but can also be helpful for students who already have background knowledge to review.  Students will learn how to align decimals place values when adding and subtracting decimals. Students should have background knowledge in place value, including tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. This can be reviewed throughout the lesson if any student needs a quick review. Throughout the lesson, teacher modeling, visual aids, examples, and student independent practice will be implemented.

Practice independently solving decimal problems

Students will need to bring a pencil and notebook or piece of paper to practicing solving fractions.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Gioino. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. I am a certified teacher in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities. I earned my Master’s degree in TESOL, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have a diverse experience of teaching different grade levels from kindergarten through eighth grade in both general education classes, special education classes, and as an Academic Intervention Services teacher. I have four years of teaching experience. My passion is teaching Math and ELA. I enjoy making students excited about learning, making learning fun for them, and watching them become successful in the learning process. I believe in real world application for learning.
