Class Experience

In this one time class, students will be able to go on a scavenger hunt to find different items in their home. I will give the children an adjective or noun and the students will find something that the word describes. When they find the item, they will show it to their friends in the class. The students will explain why they chose that item. There will be socializing in this class as the children will talk about the items they found. This class will help the children practice taking turns, listening to each other and socializing with children their age. The themes for the classes are listed below.

April 16: Shapes
April 23: Rainbow Hunt (colors)
May 7: Five Senses
May 8: ABC's
June 1: Princesses

Learning Goals

The students will practice critical thinking on finding items that meet certain words. They will learn how to talk to others in an online setting, listen to each other and take turns.

Hi! My name is Jessica Figueroa, or Teacher Jessica! I have a double Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Liberty University. I also have my TESOL certification. I have taught preschool/young elementary age children for over ten years. I have taught online ESL since July 2019. I homeschool two of my children, both in early elementary grades.

I love to teach preschool and elementary aged children. There is never a dull moment with this age group! My teaching style is a unit-study type approach. I love teaching different themes and incorporating all subjects in the theme such as math, science and reading!

My husband is in the military, so we move quite often. My favorite hobby is traveling. My husband's career has allowed us to travel around the world! I also love all things princesses and Disney! :)

I hope to see your student in my classroom soon! :)
