Class Experience

Do you love Science? In this Ongoing Class, learners will explore a range of Science subjects in a fun and interactive way. This course aims to provide meaningful learning experiences for young explorers.

Each class will include a range of teaching methods and activities that are designed to engage the learners in both a hands-on and minds-on way. Classes will include experiments, Q&A, quizzes, games, worksheets, videos and much more. Some classes will include breakout rooms.  Learners will be encouraged to observe, explore, question and share what they learn. A variety of methods are used to support learners and cater for different learning styles and needs.

Week of 1/4/24 - What is Ecology? - study of interactions between organisms and their environment
Week of 8/4/24 - What is Ecology? - basic ecological concepts, including ecosystems, communities, and habitats
Week of 15/4/24 - What is Ecology? - Nature walk or outdoor exploration to observe and appreciate local ecosystems
Week of 22/4/24 - Ecosystem Components - ecosystem components, including biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) factors
Week of 29/4/24 - Ecosystem Components - roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers in ecosystems
Week of 6/5/24 - Ecosystem Components - Ecosystem scavenger hunt: identifying and categorizing biotic and abiotic components
Week of 13/5/24 - Biodiversity - biodiversity, its importance, and threats to biodiversity loss
Week of 20/5/24 - Biodiversity - species diversity, genetic diversity, and ecosystem diversity
Week of 27/5/24 - Biodiversity - Biodiversity survey activity: identifying and documenting plant and animal species in a local habitat
