US Grade Kindergarten
In this 16 week ongoing class, students will learn and practice sight words to prepare them for early reading skills. We will practice sounding out each word, recognizing the letters in each word while writing each word out multiple times. At the beginner reading level, repetition is key. Each class will begin with a song to get students comfortable and listening. We will review the letters of the alphabet while focusing on the words of the day. I was an English (ESL) teacher for 3 years with VIPKID. I've worked with hundreds of children all over the globe in literacy. I was a homeschooling Mom of 2 boys for a little over 4 years. Reading, writing and phonics have always been a huge passion of mine.
Students will need to have a pencil and paper ready for class. A worksheet will be available to print for each class. A dry erase board would be a great addition but not needed. This will allow learners to practice their words.
