Please note that this is a FLEX class, which means that classes are recorded and students are able to complete assignments on their own time (i.e., there are no live class meetings). In this FLEX class we will sketch and draw the human face and learn at least one drawing technique each week as it relates to the subject. Student will create four drawings of the human figure. Student will create four drawings that may include the following drawing techniques: shading, sketching, line variety, hatching or cross-hatching. Student will demonstrate knowledge of proportion, gesture or expression through drawing.

Students complete work on their own time in a FLEX class. Supplemental activities should take 30 minutes a week. The drawing videos last around 30 minutes a week, but students may choose to pause video to draw and add details.

Learners are assessed informally through comments on the class page or messages. I will provide feedback on the drawings with regard to the objectives of the lesson such as shape, proportion and shading. Students may ask for feedback on specific issues.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
The Google slide presentation will be presented by the instructor onscreen within the recorded video. All content within the Google slide presentation is created by the instructor and may include: drawings, digital drawings or slides demonstrating art vocabulary and/or skills and techniques, as well as stock photo images of people (i.e., athletes, dancers). Supplemental materials such as quizzes and slide presentations of art historical examples will be provided through Nearpod.
