Description

Class Experience

Each weekday (Monday-Friday) students will check in for the daily routine and share what is going on in their lives. This will be a discussion heavy class that encourages students to follow along and speak out loud. My teaching style is one that encourages everyone to be heard, respected, and valued.

Students should be able to follow along with the alphabet, numbers, months of the year, and days of the week with 60-80% accuracy at the start of taking this course.

Students will improve their ability to recite letters, numbers, months of the year, and days of the week.
Students will gain practice identifying letters; numbers, months, days of the week, color, and shapes at random.
Students will practice discussion skills through sharing local weather, feelings, and today's activities.

Students are encouraged to practice reciting what we review in class such as letters, numbers, months, and days of the week.

Students should be in an environment free from distractions.
Optional helpful items:
- Alphabet page (with each letter listed)
- Numbers page (with numbers 1-20+)
- Months of the year page
- Days of the week page

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will be visually assessed on their ability to follow along with the alphabet, numbers, months of the year, and days of the week with the goal of increasing proficiency as the course progresses.

2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
