What's included

Hello! In this class we will be learning the famous Holiday Song, Jingle Bells. This piece has been simplified for the beginning pianist who is able to read and play most piano songs around Level 2. Typically this means that your child has been playing the piano for about 6 months. We will review all of these key elements together in class: -Hand Position needed for this song. -Finger numbers for each note -Names of the notes and the piano keys -4/4 Time signature and measure lines -Rhythm: quarter note, half note, and half rest Once each student feels confident with these elements, we will clap the rhythm together while counting the beats in each measure. We will then play the song measure by measure. By the end of the class each student should feel confident in their own ability to play this fun Holiday Song for their family. A teacher duet is provided with the music that the parent or an older sibling can play along with this student. I am excited to see you in class!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their ability to sight read new music. Students will learn how to add an accompaniment to a melody they already know and love. Our class focus will be on reading the notes, learning the rhythm, and playing both hands together.
