In this one week course, learners will experience a highly dynamic read-aloud of Jason Reynolds' "Ain't Burned All the Bright" and create an artist's notebook inspired by the compelling storytelling and artwork featured in the book.

Dive into the lyrical world of Jason Reynolds' writing and cultivate literature analysis skills, artistic expression, and a love for reading! In this one week course, learners will read in entirety "Ain't Burned All the Bright", discuss and analyze the text, and create an artistic notebook inspired by Reynolds' verse and Jason Griffin's illustrations. Homework Offered
Students will be completing an artist's notebook in class with an option to continue work out of class. At the end of the course, students will be invited to share their work with the class and be given an option to complete a self-assessment rubric and receive teacher feedback.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
