Description
Class Experience
Students will devise creative solutions to problems and utilize teamwork.
I've run this game in both elementary school and college classrooms. It's excellent in any setting emphasizing creative thinking, teamwork, or leadership development.
There will be no homework for this class.
Learners will not need any extra supplies.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed through interaction within the game as well as reflection after the game.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Although I do include elements of adventure, excitement, and danger within the game, the upper elementary version is developmentally appropriate. Learners may end up having to live with poor choices or bad die rolls (for instance, a character having to sit out a round after eating the mystery berries), but no character ever "dies" or is out of the game for good.
