3D printing is all the rage right now! With a bit of yarn and basic knitting skills you too will be able to "3D print" scarves, hats, mittens and more! NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This is the first of a two part introduction to knitting series. This class is the starting place that will teach your learner all the basics. Students will learn how to knit through direct video instruction. Materials Needed: - knitting needles (any size) - a skein/ball of yarn (any size or color) - a willingness to try and make mistakes In this class you will learn the following concepts: Session one - basic information about needles and yarn - holding the needles - keeping tension - making a slip knot - casting on stitches - introduction to knit stitching Session two - review information from previous class - practice knit stitching - tips and tricks to help you improve as a knitted (eg. what to do if you drop a stitch, or your entire knitted piece) Session three - review information from previous class - casting off - time to finish your knit wash cloth
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basic knitting stitch called the knit stitch and will create a small square knit wash cloth by the end of the course.

Supply List
- a set of straight knitting needles (any size - I prefer larger needles for beginners) - a skein/ball of yarn (any size or color - I prefer thicker yarn for beginners) - a darning needle and scissors (for the final class) so you can see in your loose ends - a willingness to try and make mistakes
