In this interactive and engaging loom knitting course, students will be introduced to the art of loom knitting through fun, hands-on projects. Over the course of the class, learners will explore the basics of loom knitting, from setting up their looms to mastering simple stitches and creating their first projects. Key Learning Objectives: Introduction to Looms: Understanding the different types of looms and how to select the right one for various projects. Casting On: Learning the technique to set up the loom, ensuring a strong foundation for each project. Basic Stitches: Mastering the basic knit stitch (e-wrap) and purl stitch to create various patterns. Creating Simple Projects: Using loom knitting techniques to complete small, beginner-friendly projects, such as bracelets, scarves, or keychains. Finishing Techniques: Learning how to bind off projects and weave in loose ends for a polished finish.

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to create a simple, functional item, such as a basic hat using loom knitting techniques, demonstrating an understanding of how to set up the loom, cast on, and complete basic stitches.

This is an amazing craft for students to learn. I use it often in my own classroom. Students of all abilities are able to complete this craft. I will be available for any questions.
Supply List
Students will need a knitting loom. They can be found at Walmart or Hobby Lobby. They will also need 1 skein of yarn. The color and weight can be up to the student. Loom kits at Walmart range from $10-$20 and yarn varies in price from $3.99+
