This class covers the parts/anatomy of a microscope, followed by how to make a basic slide with animal hair, including LIVE observations on the microscope. We will observe our slide we make, as well as observing other prepared slides

Description
Class Experience
The class will begin by covering the anatomy of the microscope, demonstrated on a working microscope. Safety and use will be taught. A worksheet to fill in the names of the parts will be provided. Next we will see how to make a simple slide, using a slide, pet hair, cover slip, and water or mineral oil. We will discuss how a microscope works, followed by observing slides on the microscope using a camera and phone-mount on the microscope so that the class can observe it live together. We will...
Students will learn the basic anatomy/parts of a microscope. Students will learn how to make their own slides. Students will learn how to safely carry a microscope. Students will learn how to use and focus a microscope to observe a variety of slides.
I, Dr. Tera am a physiologist, with research experience in a variety of areas. I was also a licensed veterinary technician. I have advanced experience using several different microscopes and lab techniques.

Some slides do contain human and animal tissues (blood, muscles, nerves, etc.).
