In this ongoing class, the Story Fairy will lead your learner on an interactive, imaginative journey to pretend to be part of a Fairy Tale story, whilst building confidence, communication, social skills, and introducing early drama skills.

Class experience

This class is taught in English.
This is a fun way to start to introduce some early drama skills and key concepts like building confidence and self-esteem, talking about emotions, introducing gross and fine motor skills, and dropping in key elements along the way.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama, English, Music, PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health, and Citizenship education), and Performing Arts in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time. I also run small group confidence-building workshops and 1:1 tutoring sessions. I have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like 'create a play in a week') and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16 as well.

As a professional actress, I've performed for children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties, nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.

I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, some TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos and have a regular podcast.

I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.

I am a Mummy to two young kids myself too, in fact, that is how the 'Story Fairy' was born!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This is an active class so please make sure your learner is dressed so they can move around comfortably (even if that is in their chosen costume), make sure they also have adequate space where they won't bump into anything, and a drink nearby in case they need it. Please be assured that all the fairy tale stories are age-appropriate and often learners will become the characters or meet a non-intimidating puppet. If your learner doesn't like puppets though please message me and I will adapt so there aren't any in their class.
