US Grade 3 - 6
This is a one-on-one course meant to address either certain areas of concern or to provide routine math instruction or reading instruction for single student. For small group options (ie, twins, classmates, neighbors) reach out to us! During the first class, the learner and teacher will interact through a series of games, problems, and sets in mathematics. In ELA, the teacher will assess the student's need and create a plan for instruction. During each following lesson we will use this format: 5 minutes: Checking individual work/homework if applicable, quick review of previous lesson 10 minutes: Introduction of additional skill, scaffolding on previous content and practice through a variety of strategies and games. 10 minutes: Individual practice to check understanding. 5 minutes: Quick checks to review prior topics, Assignment of individual work/homework. In Mathematics, lesson can include: Operations and Algebraic Thinking Number Sense Fractions, Decimals, and Percentages Measurement Data Geometry In ELA, lessons can include: Phonics and Word Recognition Fluency Key Ideas and Details Craft and Structure Text Types and Purposes Creative and Research Writing Skills Conventions of English Vocabulary
Learning Goals
Learning goals are based off of the United States Common Core standards but can be adjusted by state or another set of standards as requested by the parent.
