This class is per parent request. I am offering tutoring for beginning readers. The content of the tutoring will be determined by the student's needs. Examples of skills that may be taught in the individual tutoring sessions include: *Letter Names *Letter Sounds *Sight Words *Word Families *Rhyming Words *Story Comprehension *Making Words *Blending Words *Writing Sentences I will teach the skills in a variety of ways, including letter cards, sight word cards, magnetic letters, whiteboards, and computer slides. Hello from Miss Renee! I am a retired elementary school teacher with 29 years in public education. I taught 19 years as a first grade teacher and 10 years as a reading teacher. In the past, I have taught English to children in China, so I am familiar with online education, and I have been teaching on Outschool since 2020.
I love teaching reading to young children. I feel it is important for kids to have fun while they are learning. I use lots of singing and props in my classroom, as well as some digital tools, too! Learning should be fun!
