This is a casual, fun club where students can get help working their ongoing knitting projects, learn new stitches each week, and socialize with their peers. I will begin each class by introducing the students to a new knitting technique by demonstrating the steps myself. I'll also share patterns with the class, walking us through how to read and interpret the instructions. Students can then spend the rest of our class time practicing the new technique or working on their own personal projects. While students are knitting, I like to play background music and encourage conversation. Very often, students will have insightful ideas about knitting or crafting in general, so I want them to feel comfortable enough to share those thoughts with each other! I believe that peers helping peers is one of the best ways to learn. I look forward to knitting together soon! Week 1 (week of 10/31/21) - Broken rib and seeded rib stitches Week 2 (week of 11/7/21) - Diagonal chevron zigzag stitch Week 3 (week of 11/14/21) - Tile squares stitch *We will NOT meet during the week of 11/21* Week 4 (week of 11/28/21) - Pennant pleating stitch Week 5 (week of 12/5/21) - Moss diamond stitch Week 6 (week of 12/12/21) - Parallelogram stitch *We will NOT meet during the weeks of 12/19 and 12/26* Week 7 (week of 1/2/22) - Eyelet moss stitch Week 8 (week of 1/9/22) - Increasing and decreasing stitches Week 9 (week of 1/16/22) - Student-led group project [stuffed animal] Week 10 (week of 1/23/22) - Continue student-led group project [stuffed animal] Week 11 (week of 1/30/22) - Continue student-led group project [stuffed animal] Week 12 (week of 2/6/22) - Finish up student-led group project [stuffed animal] ~Once we reach week 12 we'll cycle back to week 1 again~ Please note: Students must already know how to cast on (preferably using the long tail method), make the knit and purl stitches, and cast off before joining this class. Punctuality policy: If none of the students arrive within 10 minutes of the class start time (unless you've sent me a message beforehand explaining they will be late), I will end the meeting and you will be charged for the class fee. In order to avoid missed classes, please send me a message before the meeting!
