Class Experience

Is your child curious about reindeer? How about Santa's reindeer?!? Let's imagine having a reindeer as a pet!
In this class we will talk all about the similarities and differences between wild reindeer and Santa's famous, nine reindeer (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph!).

We will learn about where they live, their attributes, what they eat, and how they communicate! Students will learn what Santa's reindeer do on Christmas Eve. We will discuss the special things Santa's reindeer can do! The students will see and discuss real pictures and facts of reindeer through a slideshow. Halfway through class, I will refer to the coloring sheets. Students can keep their hands busy while continuing to learn about reindeer. This is a very interactive class with lots of questions and sharing. I do enforce raising your hand and taking turns throughout class. Sharing is encouraged but never mandatory.

After the slideshow, we will play a hide and seek game to try and find the reindeer! We will then make reindeer food together that students can use to feed Santa's reindeer on Christmas Eve. :)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am Ms. Nikki!
I am so excited to be back teaching on Outschool! I took the year off to be home and care for my boy/girl twins born in June 2021, as well as my 4 year-old-son. It's been a fun, busy year with my growing family and moving into a new home. I've really missed teaching other children through this awesome platform, so I can't wait to meet your child!
I have my Early Childhood degree, Minnesota teaching license, and was a Pre-K classroom teacher for 8 years before staying home full-time with my kids! I am in love with all things travel + animals + teaching. I have taught in Minnesota, Texas, Australia, Cambodia, and as online ESL teacher for children in China.
I believe young learners succeed when given the opportunity to participate, be active, and hands-on. Early childhood education is a vital part of a child's development, not only academically but in their social, emotional, and physical needs as well. My classroom will keep students engaged and introduce them to a love of learning that will hopefully last a life time! Your child will have a blast in my class through songs, books, movement, questions and answers, and hands-on learning! My classes focus on introducing letters, numbers, handwriting and animals!

When I am not teaching, I can be found playing with my kids, doing a puzzle, walking/running my Australian Shepherd, or traveling the world with my Australian husband (Yes, I LOVE Australia).

Please feel free to reach out with any questions about classes or scheduling. I am happy to accommodate as I can.
I hope to see you in my classroom soon!
-Ms. Nikki
