Heartsongs - Write, Sing, and Play Your Own Song!
Everybody has their own song! This course includes a combination of basic chord theory, fundamental vocal technique, and an introduction to songwriting. Learners create a melody and a lyric to a chord progression they learn on a keyboard.

Beginner Level
Classes will begin with students learning triads and basic chords on a piano or keyboard. These chords will be combined into chord progressions and song forms over which students will create melodies and lyrics. Each student will create their own song and be invited to perform it by the completion of the course. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn basic chord theory, how to play and create a chord progression, how to write a lyric that tells a story, and essential vocal techniques including breathing and placement. The student's goal will be to play and sing their own original song. In addition, students will acquire musical and creative skills that can be applied to future experiences.
