Learn about the amazing kindness that giraffes show to birds, zebras, and other animals. Then, use your imagination and transform into a giraffe! Learn and play on this interactive and educational adventure! - Dodge predators and protect animal friends from a lion. - Team up with other giraffes to keep our group of baby giraffes safe. - Gain giraffe superpowers of excellent senses of vision, smell, and hearing. - Rescue zebras and spend quality time with our bird friends to help find food. By the end of this imaginative experience, learners will be able to answer questions including: - Is it true that giraffes are the tallest land animals in the whole world? - Can giraffes sleep better when standing or laying down? - Why do giraffes have spots and are the patterns unique to each giraffe? Our giraffe adventure will also include coloring in a giraffe drawing. Teaching has always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My mom taught at a bilingual elementary school in the South Bronx. I always admired the way she spent countless hours preparing for classes and the way she loved her job. I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps.
Most of my eight years of teaching has been in the museum education field. I have taught hands-on arts classes in science, art, and history museums in Florida and Massachusetts, as well as abroad in Costa Rica.
I live in Florida with my husband and our cat, Patrick. I have a B.A. in Art History degree as well as a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Florida. Additionally, while I was working in a history museum in Boston, I took evening classes in Art Education at Harvard.
I believe that learning should always be engaging and fun. My experience has taught me that most children learn and retain information the best when the lesson is hands-on. My classes have educational topics that incorporate an arts and crafts activity.
I look forward to the opportunity to teach your children in a fun and creative way. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
