Shine Like a Star! 1-on-1 Acting Class & Audition Preparation for Kids
Getting Started in the Entertainment Industry
You don't need connections to break into Hollywood. It's better to do it without them. Acting, writing, music, anything behind the scenes - doesn't matter. This class teaches how to land paying jobs in entertainment all by yourself.

Beginner Level
This class is mostly focused on teaching students how to begin a behind-the-scenes career in Hollywood. Actors, musicians, directors and every kind of artist are welcome. For anyone who thinks they might want to take a real shot at a career in the entertainment industry, this class will teach specific approaches to get started at the bottom and make a good living year after year. Unlike with connections, which are all about luck, getting in by yourself involves dependable and repeatable strategies. Along with those, I'll give you my best tips for getting ahead in your field once you're in.
I've worked as a sound engineer for 18 years, and a writer for 8 or 9. I've worked in film, television, music, radio, and live productions. I came in without connections, and I've watched plenty of other people succeed the same way.
No prerequisites. If you're thinking about a career in entertainment, you can get something out of this.
You don't really need anything other than maybe something to take notes on.
No specific sources for this class. I'm teaching strategies I've used in my own career, and watched other people demonstrate in theirs.
I've worked in Hollywood for the past 18 years, splitting my time between writing and sound engineering. I was the music editor on So You Think You Can Dance for five seasons, and recently I was the music editor and playback operator for Season 25...
