Intermediate Level

THIS COURSE IS FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE AT AN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 

In this course we will be focusing on strengthening our German foundational language skills. We will be reviewing Grammar rules, practicing grammar, reading and discussing chapters from the book, answering comprehension questions and working on our writing skills.
Everyone will be interacting with the teacher and the other students via Zoom meeting. We will be using the “Crashkurs Rechtschreibung" workbook  by DUDEN  and the chapter book "In 80 Tagen um die Welt" by Jules Verne  (Around the world in 80 days) .
This course includes a lot of interaction, practice and fun. Homework is a necessary part of learning a language! I will be sending homework home weekly. 


Note: For the class to take place it needs at least 3 students.
All students need to have their camera on during class.

 Upper and lower case rules; reading & discussing chapter 1 "Phileas Fogg und Passepartout nehmen einander als Herr und Diener an" ( Phileas Fogg and Passepartout accept each other as master and servant ) and chapter 2 "Passepartout hat sein Ideal gefunden" ( Passepartout has found its ideal )

Eine Unterredung ( a conversation )

 Upper and lower case rules; reading & discussing chapter 3 "Eine Unterredung mit schwerwiegenden Folgen" ( a conversation with serious consequences ) and chapter 4 "Phileas Fogg stürzt Passepartout in Verwirrung" ( Phileas Fogg throws Passepartout into confusion )

Lesson 3:

Londoner Börse und Detektiv Fix ( London Stock Exchange and Detective Fix )

 Separate and compound spelling rules, reading & discussing chapter 5 "Ein neues Wertpapier taucht an der Londoner Börse auf" ( a new security appears on the London Stock Exchange ) and chapter 6 "Detektiv Fix hat allen Grund, ungeduldig zu werden" ( Detective Fix has every reason to be impatient )

 Separate and compound spelling rules, reading & discussing chapter 7 "Die Polizei muss einsehen, dass Pässe nutzlos sind" ( the police must realize that passports are useless ) and chapter 8 "Passepartout schwatzt mehr, als gut ist" ( Passepartout chats more than is good )
