Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Join us as we discuss the laws surrounding motion!
In this class we will introduce Newton's laws of motion. These laws describe how things work scientifically. We discuss how these laws describe the relationship between the force acting on an object and the motion of that object. For each law we can use a ball or two, such as a soccer ball or a tennis ball, to act out the various laws and make observations and predictions. Lastly, we will use string, tape, a straw and a balloon to make a balloon rocket that demonstrates the three laws of motion.

Learning Goals

Students will learn the three laws of motion.
Students will replicate situations that demonstrate the three laws of motion.

Hello! My name is Sara and I am looking forward to working with your child! I teach Art, History, Science and Math to children who are 6-12 years old. My goal is to create a fun learning environment that focuses on activities, games, and projects that are centered on my student's interests. My teaching style is encouraging and supportive. I am from the United States and I have a master's degree in Special Education from Arizona State University. I am also a certified Lower Elementary Montessori teacher and possess a Bachelor's degree in Art from Greenville University. From 2011-2013 I lived in South Korea and taught English to elementary and middle school students. Additionally, I have worked in Montessori schools for 3 years. I have over 3 years of experience supporting neurodivergent learners. Overall, I have a total of 8 years of experience working with children. I love walking with my dog, reading, and drawing illustrations of flowers, animals and architecture. Currently, I live in the United States. Some fun facts about me are that I know how to create a Nether Portal in Minecraft, my dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and my favorite food is sushi! I can't wait to create a fun learning environment for my students! See you soon!
