Advanced Level
-This class is designed to encourage young readers to commit and follow through on finishing a book while delving into insightful conversations about the content with peers. El Soñador is a book about a young boy who seems to always be daydreaming. He loves collecting things and he loves words. Though his father does not share his love for storytelling, he does not let that stop him from embarking on a journey of self discovery which helps transform him into the world renowned poet, Pablo Neruda. -Chapters will be read at home. Students should come to each meeting prepared to dicuss the chapters as stated below. Week 1 : La lluvia &El Viento Week 2: El Lodo & El Bosque Week 3: El Árbol & La Piña Week4 : El Río & El Mar Week 5: La Laguna Week 6: El Amor & La Pasión Week 7: El Fuego Week 8: Book Report During each meeting the teacher will lead a time of discussion pertaining to the chapters that were assigned. We will cover the following criteria: -first impressions -a summary of the assigned reading -questions to verify that the assigned reading was done -questions for reading comprehension -discussions for analysis/critical thinking skills ⭐ Students will be in charge of one of the criteria each week. They should be willing to prepare beforehand. Let’s start this reading journey together... and finish it together! Let’s enrich each other’s lives, join me in a class. -Maestra Zia
