Class Experience

This class is an extended, flexible version of my live "EC Circle Time: Let's Learn" class. It is designed to be watched and reviewed whenever students and parents are able to fit it into their week, like a concert on demand! Each week, a 30 minute video will be posted, utilizing songs and recommendations from learner posts in the classroom, as well as addressing various early childhood concepts. This video can be watched as many times as you'd like, on your schedule!

In every class, students will engage in musical activities using favorite songs, and a hello and goodbye song to open and close the lesson. We will then do a calendar activity. I will share a screen for an interactive calendar, where we will talk about the days of the week, weather, and go over patterns of shapes and items we know. Each class will have movement activities/songs relating to the theme, a letter of the week, and a game. Flashcards will be shared for students who want to practice the letter of the week outside of the lesson time. Visual images as well as interactive screens will be shown on screen to keep learners engaged. No prior experience is required, and all learners are welcome.

Week 1: Letter "A" is for Animals. We will talk about Animals, sing songs focused around Animals (BINGO, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Old Mac Donald), and meet a few animal puppets. We will look at things that begin with the letter A and play a game.

Week 2: Letter "B" is for Books. We will talk about Books, sing songs, and read a story together. We will look at things that begin with the letter B and play a game.

Week 3: Letter "C" is for Colors. We will explore all of the colors of the rainbow, sing songs about colors, and complete a color scavenger hunt. We will look at things that begin with the letter C and sort them.

Week 6: Letter "F" is for Farm. We will talk about and explore a farm through interactive pictures, sing songs about a farm, and meet a few animal puppets. We will look at things that begin with the letter F and play a game.

Week 7: Letter "G" is for Go. We will talk about and explore items found in an interactive garden, and sing songs that practice "Stop and Go." We will look at things that begin with the letter G and play a game.

Week 8: Letter "H" is for Hello. We will learn how to say hello in many languages, and sing songs that feature the word hello/greeting songs. We will look at things that begin with the letter H and play a game.

Week 9: Letter "I" is for Ice Cream. We will talk about and explore items found in an ice cream shop, and sing songs about tasty food. We will look at things that begin with the letter I and play a game.

Week 10: Our wonderful alphabet! This week, we will review all of the letters we learned over the past 9 weeks, and sing some of our favorite songs. We will end with a sorting game, and say goodbye to all of the wonderful things we met along the way!

Learner Interaction:
As learners are ages 3-5, they will interact via messages sent by parents with song requests or concept requests. Learners can share posts with requests, dancing videos, and ask questions of their friends in class. Communication to parents will be timely, and all lesson videos will be posted on Mondays of each week.

Learning Goals

Students will engage in musical activities, improve understanding of basic patterns and calendar-related items, and participate in movement activities. Students will work on following directions and participating in a group setting.
