NOTE: Recordings will be anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hr 30 minutes, depending on the content for that week. In the last week, the videos might be less lengthy since we've covered a lot by then. Students will also need to print out their pages at home to follow with me in the video. There are about 25-30 pages to print out each week If students don’t have access to a printer there will be a digital PDF version for students to download and they may use Kami or any other program that allows them to write their answers on. In this course, I will teach students how to create their own interactive math journals that they can use for future references. We will cover all taught objectives of sixth-grade and ensure that students understand each lesson as the weeks go by. I love this journal because it is extremely interactive and students will enjoy doing all the activities that they're supposed to do in the journal. Students will also interact through "Quizizz" and we will play interactive games to help the student improve his/her knowledge lesson skills. It is very important that students learn all sixth-grade math concepts in a fun and interactive way and that is exactly what learners will be doing in this class. I will guide the students through a recorded video on the entire journal to ensure that students know how to solve the problems. Students will have the opportunity to pause and play the video as we are going through the lesson. Once done with the guided journal they will have an opportunity to work on Quizizz where they will reinforce what they learned. It is very important that students learn all sixth-grade math concepts in a fun and interactive way and that is exactly what learners will be doing in this class. ***This is a flex course which means that we do not meet live, but there will still be interaction as students will interact with all their classmates through the discussions, videos that we will get to watch from each other when building a certain section, and responding to each other in discussions. Topics in the interactive journal are as followed: Week 1: Ratio Relationships, Unit Rates, Ratio Reasoning, Division of Fractions, Division, Arithmetic with Decimals, Common Factors and Multiples, Positive and Negative Numbers, Week 2: Rational Numbers, Ordering of Rational Numbers, Graphing Points, Exponents, Expressions with Letters, Generating Equivalent Expressions, Identifying Equivalent Expressions, Week 3: Solving Equations as a Process, Using Variables, Real World Algebraic Equations, Inequalities, Inequalities, Using Variables, Areas of Shapes, Finding Volumes, Week 4: Coordinates, Representing 3-D figures, Statistical Questions, Distributions, Measures of Center and Variation, Displaying Data, Summarizing Data Set Everyone always assumes that math is complicated but it doesn't have to be. I hope to see you in class soon! Resources used were made by Yvonne and Brian Crawford at https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Yvonne-Crawford
