1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hoursHomework
The only homework might involve finishing up some of their color wheel sections and this is usually based on the individual pacing of each person and their abilities.Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 5
The Teacher will guide students through the process of creating their own color wheel. In the first half of the classtime, the teacher will demonstrate and guide students in the preparation phase of making their own color wheel. This will involve the student using a straight edge or a ruler for creating the 12 sections on a solid, white paper plate. This takes some time and ability to manage the ruler. Then, students will label each section with the correct color name and color. Most use color pencils. In the second half of the class, students will create visual respresentations of the color systems: primary, secondary, tertiary, complementary and analogous, etc.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the color wheel order and then some color theory vocabulary by creating a visual representation of the definitions. I believe that this experiential way helps students learn the fundamentals that will be useful for their art journey.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
I have been a practicing Artist and Teacher in the public school system for 25 years. I believe that the basics create a strong foundation for learning and allowing students to gain the confidence they need for continuing with their own drawing style and future artistic projects. I have learned that making mistakes is part of the process and the more comfortable students get with that concept, the better their artwork turns out.
