Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Students learn techniques for improving their art skills level with drawing and shading the basic shapes: the cube, sphere, cylinder and the cone.
Student will apply the shading (values) that makes their image look 3 dimensional, which includes discussion about value and the drawing pencils.
Attention will be directed for helping them understand the different drawing pencils and the purpose of a value scale. Each class is a different dynamic and some will need more help with different shapes than another. The student needs to have some basic skill for drawing a circle and a square.

I have been a practicing Artist and Teacher in the public school system for 25 years. I believe that the basics create a strong foundation for learning and allowing students to gain the confidence they need for continuing with their own drawing style and future artistic projects. I have learned that making mistakes is part of the process and the more comfortable students get with that concept, the better their artwork turns out.
