US Grade 1 - 4
This live class will be taught over two days. Students will observe plants and flowers, while studying the terms and development of plants. Each student will create a scientific illustration of a flower to help them in this process. Class 1 - - Discuss the basic aspects of botany, - learn about scientific illustrations, how they were used, and why they are important - begin observing flowers and start scientific illustration Class 2 - - continue learning botany terms - dissect plant to observe interior structure - finish our scientific illustrations Artistic suggestions or help will be offered while we're working on the illustrations.
Learning Goals
Students will work on learning specific names for parts of plants and flowers. Students will learn to identify these through observation and demonstrate their knowledge by creating their own scientific diagrams.

Supply List
Students will need print out of "parts of the flower" (I will send this before class starts) flower (to draw, you could use a silk flower, something from your yard, or even a dandelion or clover growing in the grass.) drawing paper or a sketchbook pencils art material of their choice (I suggest watercolor but colored pencils or any other materials will also work great) optional - you might want a sharpie or balled point pen for details.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
