Florida Teaching Certificate in English/Language Arts
I have taught middle and high school Spanish since 2006. I am a certified Spanish and English teacher in the state of Florida through 2024. I have a BA in both Comparative Literature (study of cultural expression through literature) & Spanish Language and Literature from Hamilton College. I lived in Spain with a Spanish family for half my junior year and attended El Instituto Internacional in Madrid. My mother’s side of the family is from Honduras so I was raised in a Spanish speaking household filled with traditional food and culture.
I earned my Master of Science for Teachers in Adolescent Education from Pace University. I am also a Professor of Education at Valencia College. I authored, Get Between Your Teen and the Screen, and co-authored the interactive student guide, Dream, Create, Activate: Create Your Master Plan to Discover and Fulfill Your Dreams.
