Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 11
Beginner Level
For a quick description see the video above.

The way I teach this skill is very easy to learn and your child will be prepared for success in Algebra.
I will show students how to do an exercise on the white board. They will learn by actually doing example exercises during class. I will repeat with another exercise and will explain as many times as needed until the students are ready to do the exercises by themselves. Once started, I will check their answers for accuracy and follow up with any necessary explanations. I encourage all participants to try as many exercises as possible. I follow up the class with an upload of homework with the solutions.

NOTE: Instructor reserves the right to change and or modify content.
NOTE: If no one shows after 10 minutes, class is canceled.
No make ups, no refunds, no exceptions.

For students who have Math anxiety

I set up the chat in the class for private. So students can answer questions in the chat and only I get to see the answers.I do not call on anyone to answer questions in front of the class, I simply write an exercise on the whiteboard and encourage all to answer via the chat, again in private and I give you private feedback. This lowers the anxiety level a ton. :)

The course breakdown is as follows:
Prerequisite: Student should be able to plot points on the x-y axis.

Week 1:

Class 1: Graphing using given values of x and y. (Tables)
Class2: Graphing using the X-intercept and Y-intercept method.
Week 2:

 Class 3: Graphing using the slope and Y-intercept method. i.e. Y = -4x +5
Class 4: Graphing two lines on the same graph.
Week 3:

 Class 5: Graphing single inequalities. i.e. Y < -3X - 5
Class 6: Graphing two inequalities on the same graph.
Week 4:

Class 7: Graphing linear equations with restrictions.
Class 8: Review. (weeks1 to 7)

Why Me?

As a private tutor since 1995 I learned that students want a math teacher who is friendly, non-judgmental and is interested in their success in math.
Students want concise and simple explanations.

I have developed my own method of teaching this skill.
I have successfully taught this skill to hundreds of students .
Once you learn it you will never forget it.
After watching Khan Academy and You tube videos on this topic I have seen nothing like the method I teach.
This skill is essential in order to learn Algebra properly.
I provide quality instruction to your child, you will be glad you chose me as his/her math teacher.
