Pre-Requisites
Learners should have basic reading and writing skills, including the ability to form simple sentences and express ideas on paper. No previous essay writing experience is required, but familiarity with writing paragraphs will be helpful.

For this class, I will provide original worksheets, writing prompts, and guided activities that I’ve developed to support the curriculum. I do not plan to use any specific books, articles, or external websites as core materials. However, if any external sources or resources are used during the course, they will be shared with families in advance for transparency. All materials provided will be age-appropriate and designed to enhance students’ learning experience in essay writing.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have several years of experience teaching children, including as a 3rd-grade teacher, where I focused on developing students' reading and writing skills. I have a strong passion for helping children discover the joy of writing and reading. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed and implemented lesson plans that foster creativity, structure, and confidence in young writers. I also have a deep understanding of how children at this age process information and how to make learning both engaging and accessible.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have taught reading and writing online to students ranging from early elementary to pre-teen ages, guiding them through the process of improving their writing skills with fun, interactive lessons. My experience with young learners, combined with my dedication to helping students love the writing process, makes me excited to guide students through this essay-writing journey.
