Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 12
Intermediate Level
What to expect: We will begin by talking about your goals for the tutoring session. We can then learn or review any specific skills you feel you struggle with or you wish to focus on today. Then we will go step-by-step to edit and revise your essay. By the end of the 45 minutes, your essay will be more polished and much more ready for your audience! Background knowledge required: While there is not any hard and fast background knowledge required, you should have a (mostly) complete essay to work with, and some knowledge on your essay topic. Things we can work on during our session: Spelling, grammar, sentence structure, introduction, conclusion, thesis statement, writing organization, etc. I specialize in: thorough proofreading and helping students who struggle with sentence structure. Teaching style: I work primarily through one-on-one discussion. We will review requested skills and then go through your essay together. Ideal student: I'm looking for a student who has an essay due soon, is hardworking, but also may be struggling with one or more aspects of the writing process.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
Here on Outschool I teach English grammar, organization, and sentence structure, Literature, including book talks, and History. My classroom environment is inclusive of all identities. I am supportive of any pronouns your child is comfortable using.
I am a teacher licensed in the state of Texas to teach all subjects Early Childhood through 6th grade, as well as Bilingual English Learners and Gifted and Talented students. I have experience with students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and anxiety. Please let me know before class if your learner has any learning differences, and I will be prepared to help them!
My teaching style is very personal and conversational, while also digging deep into the subject we're learning. My grammar and sentence structure classes are especially helpful for any learner, including homeschoolers, remote learners, and those in in-person classes to fill in gaps or support learning done in class.
A fun fact about me is that I love animals! I have three dogs, a cat and a 120-pound mini-pig named Pabla.
