In this class, learners will participate in an jungle themed digital escape room activity focusing on early grammar skills.
Class experience
In this class, learners will use their knowledge of grammar to problem-solve their way through a jungle escape room. This class focuses on types of sentences, ending punctuation, common & proper nouns, and adjectives. Learners should be familiar with the concepts, but do not need to have mastered. The instructor will facilitate the activities by demonstrating the skills and supporting learners' critical thinking. The class will either work collectively or in smaller groups depending on how...
Learners will be able to identify adjectives within a sentence. Learners will be able to identify common and proper nouns. Learners will be able to determine which ending punctuation a sentence should have. Learners will be able to identify types of sentences.
Learners should have something to write on (paper, whiteboard, sticky notes, ground outside) and something to write with (pencil, pen, marker, chalk). This class will require access to a Google Site that will be given at the beginning of class. It is best to use a laptop, desktop, or chomebook. If using a tablet, please have Google Slides and Google Drawings apps installed.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
