English: Creating Confidence and Homework Help

Students will improve their understanding of various English words and phrases, grammatical concepts, and will improve in receptive and expressive communication. More importantly, learners will gain confidence in their English skills.

Annie Edwards has for nearly four decades been a teacher, administrator, and mentor in an independent school setting. She grew up in Maine. Most recently, Annie served as the Director of University Guidance at Beijing City International School in Beijing, China. Prior to that post, Annie resided in upstate New York in the U.S where she served as the Associate Director of College Guidance, Academic Director and Advisor of the Community service program. She also taught French, English and psychology.  Annie holds a bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University, a master's degree from Middlebury College, and a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA.

N/A-Students will likely be motivated to continue learning the meanings and usages of more English vocabulary words. Learners will also gain confidence in their mastery of grammatical concepts and overall English language skills. This will vary, depending on what topic in the English language the student wishes to practice.

Learner progress is assessed by the student's increased knowledge and comfort level in the material discussed. There will be time at the end of each class for a question and answer session. We will have fun working on English skills and taking risks in a safe environment. I have taught for nearly 40 years and I love helping reluctant learners gain confidence in their language ability.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
