🌈 Calling all Emotion Explorers! Have students take charge of their emotional intelligence in literacy this summer this this engaging week-long summer camp. Each day we will explore a new part of our "feeling map!" Students will learn how to... -Develop emotional awareness and intelligence -Develop vocabulary for feelings & emotions -Explore how different emotions can be identified and expressed -Learn to express their feelings constructively -Cultivate empathy and understanding for others -Strengthen interpersonal communication skills **Looking to start in July or August? New sections will be posted mid-June!** **Request a time to get notified!** 📖 Each class features an interactive read-aloud featuring relatable characters and situations, interactive games & activities for K-2 students, calm down tools & strategies, plus hands-on craft to apply their learning throughout their exploration! Students will uncover the following feeling zones on our map each day! -Anger & Frustration -Sadness & Disappointment -Worry, Anxiety, & Fear -Calm, Peace, & Happiness

The Colorful World of Feelings | Learn About Feeling Zones
In this lesson we will read "The Color Monster," an enchanting story that personifies emotions as vibrant colors. Together, we'll analyze the emotions depicted in the book, connecting them to real-life experiences and exploring how different emotions can be identified and expressed. Students will create their own color monster feeling map!

Lesson 2:
Red Zone Adventure | Anger & Frustration
This lesson aims to empower students by helping them identify expressions and body language associated with anger & frustration. Through interactive activities, we'll discover calm strategies, turning the Red Zone into an opportunity for growth and self-awareness. The featured book, "Ravi's Roar," serves as a wonderful guide, allowing children to connect with the character's experiences and emotions. Students will create their own interactive "roar" craftivity, applying their learning!

Lesson 3:
Blue Zone Adventure | Sadness & Disappointment
This lesson will guide students in recognizing expressions and body language associated with the Blue Zone (sadness, disappointment, sick, tired) while engaging in interactive activities. Inspired by "The River," we'll explore practical and age-appropriate strategies to navigate and thaw frozen feelings of sadness. Let's turn the Blue Zone into an opportunity for growth and resilience! Students will create their own "frozen" craftivity, applying their learning!

Yellow Zone Adventure | Worry & Anxiety
This lesson will guide students in recognizing expressions and body language associated with the Yellow Zone while engaging in interactive activities. Drawing inspiration from "Ruby Finds a Worry," we'll explore creative and age-appropriate strategies to manage worries, empowering young minds to turn the Yellow Zone into a space of resilience. Student will create their own worry monster!

Parental Guidance
Before diving into the enriching content of this class, I want to assure parents that our discussions will not be therapeutic in nature. I understand that families have varying comfort levels around certain subjects. Students will be exposed to emotional literacy vocabulary and make connections with book characters, building comprehension and emotional intelligence.
