The discussion in my classes will always remain secular and appropriate for young children. Each class can stand alone, i.e. students can join or leave at any time without needing additional information. In art, "There are no mistakes, just happy accidents." ~Bob Ross Please join me, Mrs. Christina, weekly for my Elements and Principles of Art Class. Our projects will be inspired by different styles of art, artists, and art history. Each week, we will focus on one or more of the elements or principles of art. The elements of art are: line, shape, color, form, value, texture, and space. The principles of art are: movement, pattern, unity, emphasis, rhythm, balance, and contrast. Stay tuned for more classes! I always complete the artwork along with the learners using an overhead camera that allows them to see what I am doing every step of the way. I truly believe that art is in the eye of the beholder and that while I guide learners through a project, I encourage each child to make their work unique and cherish the differences in each piece of art presented at the end of class. This class will meet live for 35 minutes 1 time per week and is intended for learners ages 9 to 13 years old. I love to engage my students with some art history and fun facts about famous artists. I also encourage the students, if comfortable, to enjoy conversation relevant to the subject of the art. Students may need some extra time outside of class to finish their work.
Learning Goals
We will work on the elements and principles of art and be inspired by different art styles, artists, and art history.
