Economics is the study of how a society chooses to allocate limited resources over time to produce and consume various goods and services. In this on-going class, we will discuss important economic concepts - for instance, from the news - and discuss the economic theory behind that story. We will consider both the actions of individuals, firms, the government, and society as a whole. This class aims to be interactive - participants are encouraged to give their own views, to ask questions, and to debate sensitively with their peers. This class will be most useful for those studying economics, business, finance, or politics, or simply those with a genuine interest of the world around them. As we discuss news stories, we will begin to aid our understanding of how theory ties into practice.
