The Harry Potter franchise is one of the most successful book and film franchises ever. In this course, we will select a Harry Potter topic each week and discuss the topic in depth. This will be a fun, interactive class that aims to both teach new information but also encourage students to develop skills such as communication, writing, and note-taking. As different opinions are expected, the class aims to create an environment for open discussion about a common interest. This should help students develop social skills and build friendships. This class will be particularly suitable for those with an interest in books and films, particularly the Harry Potter series. It would also be suitable for those studying creative writing, film & media, or English. An interest in the Harry Potter series would be helpful for this particular course. ⭐️ SCHEDULE ⭐️ We will discuss the story, trivia, and importantly critique the series. The course will therefore develop as follows: Week 09-Sep-24 - The Philosopher's Stone Week 16-Sep-24 - The Chamber of Secrets Week 23-Sep-24 - Prisoner of Azkaban Week 30-Sep-24 - Goblet of Fire Week 07-Oct-24 - Order of the Phoenix Week 14-Oct-24 - Half-Blood Prince Week 21-Oct-24 - The Deathly Hallows We will discuss everything Harry Potter as well as any upcoming news on its relaunch as a TV series. ➕Symbolism ➕Finding deeper meanings and make connections to other perspectives ➕Articulate a position on the books and the films ➕Exploring characters ➕Uncover themes ➕Analyse plot points ➕Examine cinematic technology and art
