Description

Class Experience

Learning Goals are:
1. Choosing a topic
2. Learning essay styles (persuasive, descriptive, or argument).
3. Polishing your grammar, sentence structure, and argument.
Teacher has acquired a Masters degree with a GPA of 4.0 last year. She will share her secrets to essay writing from beginners up to the advanced level.
Students are expected to write a one page, three paragraph essay using the constructs from the class, which will be handed in as homework within one week. These will be graded. 
The assignment is in the classroom and available once you enroll. 
 2 files available upon enrollment
A one page handout will be sent to each student at enrollment for the first lesson. Also when the students enroll they will receive a homework assignment which is to be handed into the classroom within one week. This will be graded according to the materials covered in the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each student will share/read their work in class. Peer evaluation and teacher comments for three areas of one piece of their writing will take place in class (Sentence structure, argument thread, and formatting).  They will be marked according the score card included in the handout assignment.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
No Parental Guidance required.
Student swill search for credible sources of information on their topic online. They will need access to online websites to find this information as described in class.
