1 hour per week. Students are expected to write a one page, three paragraph essay using the constructs from the class, which will be handed in as homework within one week. These will be graded. The assignment is in the classroom and available once you enroll.Assessment
Each student will share/read their work in class. Peer evaluation and teacher comments for three areas of one piece of their writing will take place in class (Sentence structure, argument thread, and formatting). They will be marked according to the scorecard included in the handout assignment.Grading

Beginner - Advanced Level
Students will learn the Basic steps to writing essays well: Learn 3 steps to simplify every essay you write, 1) learn the purpose of an essay, 2) make it excellent , and 3) one idea to help you finish an essay in record time. BONUS TIP: Students will be guided on conducting research easily. In addition to formatting, critical thinking techniques, and quickly composing an essay, students will learn how to polish their essays for a higher score. To practice writing about challenging topics, students will first select a topic they are enthusiastic about and one they are not, and apply the lesson principles. Student options include creating a funny, mysterious, technical or other style of essay to make the essay writing class enjoyable. The class is interactive, offers sample essays and ideas, and demonstrates how to lengthen the work.

Pre-Requisites
Students should have basic knowledge of proper English grammar, sentence and paragraph structure, and online access for searching databases (Google Scholar, ERIC, https://libguides.astate.edu/freedatabases/k12).
Supply List
A one-page handout will be sent to each student at enrollment for the first lesson. Also when the students enroll they will receive a homework assignment which is to be handed in within one week. This will be graded according to the materials covered in the class.
