In this class the students will venture through the world of Barovia, a haunted world of ghosts and ghouls and vampires! Students will have the opportunity to create their characters in the first session and learn more about the world. We will also discuss student's comfortability with the horror genre and I will adjust the game to fit everyone's boundaries, no need for this spooky world to induce real-life nightmares! Students will be learning (though they may not realize it) social-emotional learning, collaborative problem solving, as well as basic mathematics skills and strategy skills.
I have been playing (and teaching) Dungeons & Dragons since 2017, teaching people of all ages (from 6 years old-60) how to play this game. I have worked with clinicians and educators to hone my curriculum in such a way to support students with any unique needs.
This class, as with all of my classes, is designed to support all unique learning needs. I have worked with students who have many diagnoses and make sure to tailor my lessons to everyone's unique needs.
If your student has never played D&D (fifth edition) before, it is recommended they first take my Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons course, also available on Outschool.
The students are welcome to bring along their own dice, as well as print out their character sheets. Neither is required!

This world is set in a vague horror genre. As I have been working with this system for some time, I am very comfortable adapting the story to fit everyone's comfortability. Students will have the ability to message me at any point if something is deemed too scary or too intense and I will adjust, as well as check in with that student privately. If there are any concerns at all please let me know! We will be using Roll 20 for our games! A link will be provided that students can log onto. There they will find their character sheets, a dice roller, and maps through the game.
