In this hour and 15 minute class, students will learn the basics of how to illustrate a picture of their pet or favorite animal. Using the app Procreate or Sketchbook, students will use their tablets to import a photo of their chosen pet and then will learn how to trace, draw, and add details including coloring and shading to their illustration. Students should have a basic knowledge of drawing software, but it is not required to have extensive preexisting knowledge of either app. Required Supplies: iPad (fully charged or charging during the class just in case) Stylus - Apple Pencil or similar that has a fine tip Photo of pet to be used in the class
Learning Goals
Students will expand their knowledge of Procreate or Sketchbook.
Students will create a digital illustration of their pet.
Students will learn how to use color matching.
Students will explore layers inside of Procreate or SketchbookOther Details
Parental Guidance
We will be using the free Procreate app that is available for any iPad user. This app does not require setting up an account nor does it require any personal information to acquire and is a basic drawing app for digital use.
Supply List
Procreate App or Sketchbook iPad or Tablet Stylus (Apple Pencil or similar with fine point tip) Optional - Charger for tablet in case of low battery.
