Draw Anime: Learn to Sketch Portraits in Anime Style With Interesting Expressive Tropes
What's included
Class Experience
In this flexible class, we will learn different basics of drawing anime heads and faces in various expressions and styles. All characters are original to help ease into the world of anime/manga art. The goal is to help students create their unique voice and style by breaking down specific anime/manga techniques into teachable segments. Students are encouraged to follow along but can add their artistic voice to their characters. I intend to give your child a basic understanding of the principles of drawing to re-apply rules on their own. This course will be collaborative and instructional while allowing students to be independent in drawing activities in any class recordings. Students are encouraged to draw along with me. One of the BIGGEST benefits of a flexible class is that you can stop and start at any time. You will always get feedback and can ask questions through the time we have together. You can post anything in the classroom related to the subject and the opportunity to meet other students in this course. Drawing anime expressions comes down to working with the same elements of feelings: eyes, eyebrows, lips, nose, ears, the position of the jaw, the cheeks, and then reinforcing these elements with gesture and figure, person's view, light, and value. We will draw in a sketching format so expect to get messy and making mistakes! We will learn together and celebrate our victories! I have several years of experience with art teaching in co-ops, homeschool, and private tutoring. I try to incorporate mindfulness, creativity, and freedom into all of my classes.
My teaching philosophy is that all students are individuals and unique learners that must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and where mistakes are considered educational victories.
