This is a one-time lesson with an OT that teaches young children the basic body parts and what they do, where each part goes in relation to the others, and the prewriting strokes needed to draw a person.

Class experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the 10 basic body parts, use shapes to make a person, and practice drawing a person.
As a pediatric occupational therapist with 20 years of experience, I have found that learning to draw a person is a key skill to immediate success in an early education environment. Some children need a little extra support to gain this skill and I am excited to help. I created a song and my own handout to teach this skill in a fun and engaging way. Please note that this is not a therapy session, as I have not evaluated your child and do not know specific areas they may be struggling with. I will be teaching students a general skill through fun activities that target prewriting.
 1 file available upon enrollment
-One page printable handout to make the kit needed for this class (you will make this kit PRIOR to the class and will need cardboard OR craft foam) For the Class -Kit ready to go -2 pieces of Paper -Crayons or Markers.
An adult will need to be available to assist (please remember that Outschool policy requires adults to remain off-camera as much as possible).
