Well, who doesn't love a delicious, cute, and sweet little cupcake! Much like cupcakes, our babysitters in training are sweet and cute! Bringing joy and happiness to children and families, just like a cupcake! Everyone loves a cupcake or two and families love babysitters who are educated, loving, caring, and trustworthy! The smile that a cupcakes gives to child will be the same smile that you will receive from children in your care. You are an important asset to families. What Will Cupcake Trainees Learn? CupCake Babysitting Training Course is a 9 hour course that consist of the fundamental elements of Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Development. The Cupcake Babysitter Training Course educates on the importance of caregiving and care for children and servicing families. Learning Objectives ____________ Students will: • Describe and discuss prior knowledge on early childhood and early childhood development • Define, and discuss the terms and theories in early childhood, child development, • Identify, define, and discuss definitions, elements, and implications of early childhood education • Identify and define the competency goals and analyze their own professional experiences to discuss and apply the competency goals in real-life classroom experiences • Discover and discuss how vital physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development is in the lives of children • Identify, analyze, and discuss child development theorist and theories coined by Fraud, Jung, Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson, Bronfenbrenner • Students will view, discuss, and analyze videos on health and safety learning environments, three domains of human development, cultural diversity and cultural relativism, and family culture • Discover how to record-keep accounts, calculate, and estimate childcare pricing, expenses • Discover necessary elements to create and prepare their resumes & Professional Portfolio for potential clients. • Recognize, discuss, analyze, the concept of learning through play and apply the concepts to create lesson plans, for holistic learning and development • Define, analyze, and discuss the nature, forms, and effects of ethnocentrisms • Analyze and discuss examples of ethnocentrism and stereotypes in family culture • Recognize, discuss, and analyze family culture and building meaningful relationships with families in early learning settings • Identify, analyze and discuss various types of learning philosophies such as Creative Curriculum, Montessori, and HighScope approaches • Discuss information and resources about contracts, marketing, & how to create marketing materials for their business • Comprehend and examine the benefits of identity safety family learning environments • Examine, analyze, and discuss a video on identity safety family learning environments • Identify, analyze, and discuss four major ways to create identity safety classrooms • Discover ways to create multicultural activities and lessons. • Examine, analyze, and discuss a video case study of real life early childhood scenarios

Teacher expertise and credentials
I began my journey in early childhood as a teenager at the age of 13. I have been in the early childhood field for 26 years. I started my own babysitting business making my own money. It was very empowering and it really made my parents proud. My mother was a in-home childcare provider and I followed in her footsteps. Currently, I own my own family childcare in Atlanta. I have a master's degree in Early Childhood Studies and a B.A. in Sociology. I have always been an advocate for young children and youth for most of my life. In the same spirit, I want to share this gift with you!
I would like to extend my mentorship to you and aid you in understanding the fundamentals of owning your business and understanding early childhood as a whole. It is imperative that you understand your role in the lives of children, families, and in the community. You are in fact an extension to the family and play an important part.
