In this 3-part course, younger learners will discover the science behind crime scene investigation while also solving "The Case of the Missing Donuts".

Class experience

Students will understand the science used to solve a realistic (non-violent) crime.
Students will learn and apply the techniques of carbon fingerprinting, and chromatography.
Students will apply analytical and inferential skills to solve a fun and age appropriate mystery.
Fingerprinting Materials: clear tape, white paper, pencil
Chromatography Materials: coffee filter OR paper towel cut into 1/2 inch wide strips, various brands/colors of markers, cup of water, tape, pencil 
This will be friendly for young learners. The crime scene will not include details of violence or gore.
