Description
Class Experience
Students will understand the science used to solve a realistic (non-violent) crime. Students will learn and apply the techniques of carbon fingerprinting, and chromatography. Students will apply analytical and inferential skills to solve a fun and age appropriate mystery.
Fingerprinting Materials: clear tape, white paper, pencil Chromatography Materials: coffee filter OR paper towel cut into 1/2 inch wide strips, various brands/colors of markers, cup of water, tape, pencil
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This will be friendly for young learners. The crime scene will not include details of violence or gore.
