In this fun interactive class learners will write their own short story. In the first lesson we will learn about the setting of the story. Settings describe where and when a story takes place. Learners will look at a variety of settings and choose a setting for their own story. In the second lesson we will talk about characters. It's time to be creative! We will work on different similes and metaphors and find the best way to describe our main character. We will also look at the difference between heroes and villains. In the last lesson we will discuss plot. We will learn about the introduction, climax, and resolution. Students will finish writing their stories during class and then we will read and share the stories with each other.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the components of a story. They will learn techniques for improving their descriptive language and build confidence in their writing skills.

Supply List
Learners will need to print out the worksheets before each lesson. They will also need plenty of lined paper and a pen or pencil.
