In this class, students get the opportunity to receive weekly help on their creative writing pieces, which could be anything from poems to novels. In execution, this class will function like a tutoring session, with a focus on teaching students the exact writing techniques that would improve their creative pieces. Having the one-on-one format will allow for more individualized teaching and focus on your student's work and technique. We will start each class by workshopping any work the...
Students will improve their ability to edit and revise their work. Students will gain a better understanding of the genre they write in. Students will improve their understanding of basic creative writing techniques and elements such as "show, don't tell," dialogue, setting, characters, plot, setting, and world-building.
Homework Offered
Homework for this class will be writing exercises and brief reading assignments.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Throughout this class, students should have some kind of writing journal (a simple notebook will work fine). Additionally, I will provide worksheets for students. I will send those at least a week in advance before the class they are needed in.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
