In this lesson students will be shown how to setup an independent computer (or their gaming computer) to serve as a Minecraft server. We will cover the specs of a computer for hosting a Minecraft server, how to configure it and how to ensure functionality. Next, look at how to configure your home network router for port forwarding to let others outside your network join the server you create. After covering how to setup your own Minecraft server, we will then look at free options for remote hosting in case you don't want to use your primary computer for setting up the server. ** Students will learn advanced skills and might require adult supervision for assistance configuring their routers and computer. Student will also need to be able to edit files, extract files, and be able to do some light data manipulation of files. Post class students will be given a tutorial to help them do the things they learned in class.

My teaching philosophy centers on making technology education accessible, engaging, and relevant. I believe that understanding technology is crucial in today’s world, and my approach is to demystify complex concepts by breaking them into manageable parts. I emphasize hands-on learning and real-world applications, encouraging students to explore, experiment, and solve problems creatively.
I strive to create an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and motivated to learn. By adapting my teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and academic levels, I aim to foster a growth mindset and build confidence in each student’s ability to grasp and apply technological concepts.
Technology is ever-evolving, and I believe in preparing students not just with current knowledge, but with the skills to adapt and innovate as new developments arise. My goal is to inspire curiosity and a lifelong passion for learning, equipping students with the tools they need to succeed in both their academic and professional futures.
