Class experience

This class is taught in English.
Although this is a feedback and planning class, these are also valuable learning experiences (for both child and teacher!). The intended learning outcomes of this class are drawn from the Australian Early Years Learning Framework and are:
(1) I can openly express my ideas and feelings in my interactions with others.
(2) I feel recognised and respected for who I am.
(3) I can experience and share personal successes in learning, and initiate opportunities for new learning.
(4) I can be an enthusiastic participant in my own learning.
(5) I can interact with others to explore ideas and concepts, challenge and clarify my thinking, and negotiate and share new understandings.
I am a Masters-degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher (ages 0 - 8), with over 30 years experience working with young children and their families. My background includes extensive training, experience and qualifications/ certification in a wide range of educational assessment practices and approaches including the Australian EYLF, the UK EYFS, a range of classroom language (emergent literacy), mathematics and social skill assessment models, as well as familiarity with Korean, Thai, Taiwanese and Chinese play-based and developmentally-appropriate approaches to early years education.

~ some of your favourite toys to play with during our session.
Parents will need to assist their child to prepare for this class by ensuring the child has access to some of your favourite art supplies (drawing or painting paper, plus their favourite crayons, pencils or paints) or toys, so your child can play during our session.
This class will draw from the (national) Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) (2009), unless otherwise requested by the parent. The EYLF is the national curriculum used in Early Childhood Education in all Australian states, and is a statutory document outlining the learning outcomes that any school, educational or care setting must support and develop from birth to at least age five (and up to age eight). The EYLF is a non-standardised, play-based, developmentally-informed and strengths based educational curriculum.
