In this one time art class learners will work on creating illustrative watercolour portraits of themselves or a loved one.

Class Experience

In this one time live watercolour class learnes will look at drawing a cartoon representation of themselves or a loved one, stylizing, and painting those portraits in watercolour. 

We will cover:
Pencil types - leads - and drawing and underpainting
Watercolour - types - applications - variances
Colour - spectrum - temperature - mixing
Inking - contour lines - line weight

In order to succeed in this class learners will want to have:

Watercolour paper (90lb min - 140lbs ideal - hot or cold press is acceptable ) approximately 5x7 in size. Larger sheets can be used. 
Watercolours (tube or pan preferred)
Pencil, eraser
Fine Liner in Waterproof Ink (micron pen recommended but any waterproof ink pen sized 02,03,05,08 or equivalent) 
Two water jars half filled with water
Paper towel or cloth
Paintbrush : medium flat brush and one detail brush 
A reference photo of themselves or a friend/family member.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
